Experienced Representation

I have been dedicated to children with special needs for most of my life. I grew up in the home with parents who were special education teachers.  My mother advanced through the ranks in Arizona to become a County Associate Superintendent.  In my twenties I became an educator, teaching in both general education and special education classes, servicing students of all disability types.  After years in the classroom, I came to the realization that I could assist more students each year by advocating for families as an attorney.

Upon entering law school, I participated in Whittier Law School's Special Education Clinic and completed a summer internship at the Children's Rights Law Center in downtown Los Angeles.  For the past 14 years I represented families throughout California as an associate at a leading special education law firm.  Over the years, I have represented hundreds of families by counseling families, attended IEPs, negotiating settlements between school districts and families, drafted legal complaints, participated in Due Process Hearings, and filing petitions in the California Superior Courts for limited conservatorships.  My personal and professional experiences have provided me insight into the needs of students and what can be obtained through the IEP process.

My dedication to children with special needs extends beyond my legal practice.  For the last 10 years, my wife and I have operated a dance school with classes specifically designed for children and adults with special needs.

Today, I have returned to small town desert living, similar to the type of community I grew up in, and have tailored a solo practice focused allowing families access to legal support and manage all aspects of a client's matter.  Contact me to set up a consultation to discuss your matter so that we can work to identify how we can work together to achieve your desired outcome.
